Harvest on Hudson Executive Chef David Amorelli
Over his twenty years in the business, David Amorelli has been an integral part of such iconic restaurants as Le Chantilly, Solera, River Café, Gotham Bar & Grill, David Burke & Donatella and Brasserie Ruhlman, often as the trusty right-hand man, bringing the chef's vision to life and also earning the Distinction of executive chef.
Seeking a formal education in food, he attended the Culinary Institute of America. Tapping his natural artistic talent which had been refined at the the High School of Music and Art, Amorelli excelled in his studies and was awarded a coveted externship with the legendary Chef Gilbert LeCoze at Le Bernardin.
Not long after graduating as valedictorian, Amorelli met celebrity chef David Burke. He started at Burke's famous River Café as morning prep and in only one year worked his way up to Sous Chef. Burke eventually selected Amorelli as his Executive Sous Chef when he launched Park Avenue Café in '92. After two good years, Amorelli left Burke to become Executive Chef at Cite, where he ran the kitchen for ten years. Amorelli eventually returned to Chef Burke where he was named Chef de Cuisine at his Upper East side hot spot. After learning an immeasurable amount from Chef Burke, Amorelli jumped at another amazing career opportunity to work alongside world renowned Chef Laurent Tourondel at Brasserie Ruhlman.
Now Amorelli brings that wealth of experience and expertise to Harvest on the Hudson where that accumulated knowledge will be manifested in the creation of farm to table cuisine utilizing the bounty and variety of extraordinary food products Westchester County has to offer.
